  • 'Zargoon and the Magic Lamp' – a theatrical performance celebrating Kuwait as the Capital of Arab Culture and Media.
  • Prominent guests included the Director-General of the GCC Joint Program Production Institution.

Ooredoo Kuwait recently hosted its annual Ramadan Ghabqa at the Four Seasons Hotel, bringing together employees from across the company and its subsidiaries. This cherished tradition serves as a token of appreciation for their hard work and dedication, fostering a spirit of unity and gratitude during the holy month of Ramadan.

For the first time, this year's Ghabqa welcomed distinguished guests, including Chairman Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad bin Nasser Al Thani, Vice Chairman Dr. Hamad Al-Nuaimi, and Dr. Youssef Al-Salaili, alongside the company’s executive leadership, led by CEO Abdulaziz Yaqub Al-Babtain. The event also featured a special appearance by Sheikh Mubarak Fahad Al-Sabah, Director-General of the GCC Joint Program Production Institution (GCCJPPI), along with a select group of actors from the upcoming Eid Al-Fitr theatrical production.

Commitment to Excellence

The evening unfolded in a warm, festive ambiance. Speaking at the event, Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad bin Nasser Al Thani expressed his pride in the company’s workforce:

“It is an honor to be with you during this blessed month. I bring you the best regards of Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Thani, who personally commended your efforts. Your dedication and hard work have made this year’s achievements truly exceptional. Success is a result of strategic planning and relentless commitment, and I thank each of you for your contributions. Ooredoo is more than a company—it is a family, and you are its foundation.”

A Strong Sense of Community

Echoing these sentiments, CEO Abdulaziz Yaqub Al-Babtain emphasized the company’s people-first approach:

“I am grateful for your dedication, passion, and pursuit of excellence. Your efforts are reflected in the outstanding performance of the company this year. The Ghabqa is an integral part of our culture, reinforcing the strong connections we share beyond the professional sphere. I also take this opportunity to congratulate you on the theatrical production being presented to our audience during Eid Al-Fitr, a project that underscores our commitment to strategic partnerships with the public sector.”

A Strategic Artistic Initiative

As part of its ongoing cultural engagement, Ooredoo Kuwait proudly unveiled its first-ever artistic production, “Zargoon and the Magic Lamp”, in the presence of the cast, director, and writer. This theatrical performance aligns with Kuwait’s designation as the Capital of Arab Culture and Media, underscoring the company’s commitment to fostering collaboration between the public and private sectors in support of community-driven initiatives.

Preserving Tradition with a Modern Touch

Ramadan holds a special place at Ooredoo Kuwait, with events like the Ghabqa reinforcing a familial and traditional spirit. Employees also participate in the annual Gereesh gathering before the holy month begins, celebrating Kuwaiti heritage and Ramadan customs.

This year’s Ghabqa was further enriched by the presence of artists from the theatrical production, a performance that promises to revive the golden era of children’s theater through an engaging, culturally inspired narrative.

With this successful Ghabqa, Ooredoo Kuwait once again reaffirmed its commitment to its employees, cultural enrichment, and community engagement, setting the stage for an exciting Eid celebration ahead.
