Under the umbrella of its comprehensive social responsibility program and efforts to foster a healthier lifestyle in Kuwait

Kuwait, 14 January 2025

Burgan Bank launched into 2025 with robust resolve and commitment to contribute to its community’s overall growth and development, leading the year with the platinum sponsorship of the first edition of NAWI, Kuwait’s annual health, fitness and wellness expo held at The Arena Kuwait. The sponsorship is part of Burgan’s comprehensive social responsibility program and its unwavering commitment to advancing the health, wellness, and sports sectors.

“In line with the Bank’s slogan ‘Driven By You’, we were resolved to begin the new year with our platinum sponsorship of NAWI, the biggest and most important health and fitness summit in Kuwait, which saw an impressive turnout of health and wellness professionals and enthusiasts throughout its three-day span,” commented Ms. Hessa Hussain Al-Najadah, Senior Manager – Corporate and CSR Communications at Burgan Bank.

“Stemming from our commitment to sustainability and corporate responsibility, we continue to place our community’s mental health and wellness at the top of our priorities for contributing to the development of Kuwait’s sports and health sectors,” added Al-Najadah. “In addition, we remain committed to supporting youthful Kuwaiti calibers as well as empowering women by sponsoring different initiatives and events such as NAWI, which rests on the shoulders of an all-female team of aspiring Kuwaitis who were able to realize their vision and aspiration through our partnership. I would like to conclude by thanking the NAWI team for their effort and collaboration and expressing our great pride in their achievement.”

During the expo, visitors of all ages were able to explore the rich variety of Kuwait’s wellbeing industry and receive the guidance needed to make a sustainable plan for physical and mental wellness.

On their part, the NAWI team expressed their gratitude to Burgan Bank for their unwavering support, saying: “Having many great options to choose from denotes the vivaciousness of any industry; however, it can be daunting for consumers to decide where to start or what choices to opt for. As the name suggests, NAWI was designed for everyone with a sincere intention to lead a life of balance and wellness. Thanks to our sponsors, especially Burgan Bank, and their earnest support, we were able to deliver an expo that is both holistic and wholesome, offering all visitors the needed guidance to turn their intentions into fruitful action.”

As part of its platinum sponsorship, Burgan Bank hosted numerous interactive activations at its dedicated booth, including Spin the Wheel for a chance to win different valuable prizes as well as fitness gadgets. It also held a “Seen Jeem” competition that challenged visitors’ knowledge of Kuwait’s history of athletic achievements and other health and wellness-related trivia, awarding top winners a cash prize.

In addition to Burgan Bank’s interactive competitions, the event featured a wide range of engaging sessions for adults and families, varying between discussions and keynote speeches, educational workshops, and pop-up fitness classes. These sessions focused on a number of health and wellness topics including combating obesity, children’s wellness, nutrition, fitness and tech, defining a balanced lifestyle, and mental health among others.

To capture the wealth of Kuwait’s wellness industry, NAWI featured leading industry professionals in physiotherapy and sports rehabilitation, gym facilities and fitness studios, sports tech, equipment and apparel brands, diet centers and nutritionists, healthy food and beverage, mental wellbeing consultancy, yoga, meditation, and breath-work.

In addition, the expo included an immersive art installation that pays homage to Kuwait’s history of athletic achievements. The NAWI Museum, designed by architect Jassim Al-Nashmi, featured a remarkable curation of artifacts and heritage pieces that offer a glimpse into the nation's sporting legacy, encouraging younger generations to follow their passion for sports and continue to raise Kuwait’s flag across the most esteemed sporting arenas regionally and globally.

It is worth noting that Burgan Bank has been a steadfast contributor to the advancement of Kuwait’s health and wellness sectors through strategic sponsorship and partnerships that continue to benefit athletes, sports federations and committees, as well as hospitals and healthcare centers. With its sponsorship of NAWI, Burgan vows to uphold its commitment to fostering a healthier lifestyle for all Kuwaitis.
