
Saudi Charitable E-Platform Treats 8,000 Patients Without Health Insurance
SHEFA Platform: A Model for Community-Driven Healthcare
Riyadh: Shefaa Platform, an initiative of the Health Endowment Fund, has achieved remarkable successes and accomplishments since its inception, treating over 8,000 cases in 4 years.
The Shefaa Platform was launched in 2020 to facilitate access to medical services and medications for disadvantaged patients, especially in emergency cases without health insurance.
The platform operates through active partnerships with more than 70 health charities in Saudi Arabia and provides its services to all.
The medical specialties offered by the platform cover 15 specialties, including cancer treatment, kidney diseases, eye diseases, general surgery, heart diseases, bones and joints, women and childbirth, and neurology.
Generous donations from community members play a significant role in funding the platform's services, with over 5 million donations received exceeding SAR 220 million ($58m).
