Burgan Bank Concludes Its Sponsorship of “Macintosh” by Free Jabriya
Cementing its role as an active contributor to the development of arts and entertainment in Kuwait
Kuwait, 3 May 2024: After two nights of resounding success, Burgan Bank concluded its sponsorship of “Macintosh”, the two-day musical madness experience by Free Jabriya Productions. The show took place at The Arena on April 26-27 and was attended by a multi-generational crowd of 10,000 attendees. The Bank’s sponsorship of the show sits at the intersection between its one-year sponsorship of Free Jabriya Productions, its far-reaching social responsibility program, and its steadfast commitment to the overall development of the domestic arts and entertainment sector.
Commenting on the show’s massive success, Ms. Hessa Hussain Al-Najadah, Senior Manager - Corporate and CSR Communications at Burgan Bank, said: “We are delighted to be part of the massive and memorable success that ‘Macintosh’ achieved over its two-day span, and we are particularly proud of our partnership with Free Jabriya Productions who continue to amaze us with their creativity and artistic vision with every new show. Like their previous shows, Free Jabriya presented the crowd with an unforgettable experience of a musical concert that completely reimagined some of the most popular and iconic songs and presented them in a modern, electronic style that appealed to members of the crowd of all ages, uniting them over their shared passion for Kuwaiti music.”
“Everything evolves fast today, and music is no exception. However, the change of popular taste and modern preferences doesn’t necessarily mean abandoning the old and replacing it with something else, something new. At Free Jabriya, we wanted to remind our audience that Kuwaiti art is timeless and that all generations should be able to have access to it and enjoy it despite their differences – and ‘Macintosh’ did exactly that,” said Mr. Ali Al-Nusif, Executive Producer and Co-Founder at Free Jabriya Productions. “From beginning to end, the show was all about partnership and sharing success, from our fruitful collaboration with Burgan Bank, who continue to show us unwavering support, to the iconic artists and talented musicians who shared the stage and delivered two nights of musical madness, and of course, the diverse crowd that came together and proved that music is a language of unity and oneness.”
On his part, Mr. Jassem Al-Qames, Creative Director of “Macintosh”, said: “To say that we enjoyed working on ‘Macintosh’ is an understatement of the overwhelming joy and fulfillment that colored the whole experience. With Free Jabriya’s curiosity and eagerness to present the audience with a fresh, unprecedented experience, and of course Burgan Bank’s unbounded support throughout the entire journey, every step of the ‘Macintosh’ ride was an inspiration to go beyond the obvious and to explore new, uncharted territories of mixed styles and media of art.”
The event was notable for its cross-generational line-up of beloved artists, including Ayed, Bader Al-Shuaibi, Daffy, Rahaf, Hamad Al-Amari, and Khaled Al-Mulla, who performed first-time duets on the “Macintosh” stage and sang some of the most popular Kuwaiti songs in an all-new electronic remake. The show also featured an orchestra of 50 remarkable musicians who were led by Maestro Ahmad Al-Oud, the esteemed Kuwaiti conductor. Weaving all of the show’s elements together were creative directors Maryam Al-Khatrash and Jassem Al-Qames.
“Macintosh” marks the third successful collaboration between Burgan Bank and Free Jabriya Productions, following the two previous hit shows “Feykom Tarab: A Night with Miami” and “Graish”. In line with its dedicated social responsibility strategy, Burgan Bank continues to spare no effort to support local artists and other key players in the art and entertainment sector, ensuring that all generations of Kuwaitis continue to cherish their authentic culture through traditional and modern performances alike.
