Kuwait, 9 January 2024: Kuwait International Bank (KIB) announced the renewal of its strategic partnership with Suffix Events to launch the activities of the second season of KIB | The Stadium, the professional sports championship that will be organized across an area four times larger than last year. Set to take place between January 26 and February 17 on Marina Beach, the new season of the championship will be dedicated to equestrian sports, featuring competitions between various local and international teams. The announcement of the annual grand event came during a press conference attended by Othman Tawfeqe, General Manager of the Retail Banking Department at KIB, Ahmed Al-Majed, CEO of Suffix Events, and Marwa Marafie, Manager of Marketing and Corporate Communication at KIB. 
Commenting on the sponsorship of the championship, Tawfeqe said: “KIB has always been a longtime supporter of the sports sector and various kinds of sports in Kuwait. However, this year, we will specifically focus on show jumping by sponsoring several initiatives, starting with the sponsorship of the Atyab Al-Marshoud Championship, followed by the sponsorship of the Kuwait Equestrian Federation throughout the entire year, and finally, the second season of 'KIB | The Stadium' championship, dedicated to equestrian sports. We will be hosting a unique show jumping competition on Marina Beach, featuring both local and international teams for the first time.”

On the other hand, Ahmed Al-Majed, the Chief Executive Officer of Suffix Events, the organizing company for the event, stated: “I am excited to share that Suffix Events, known for organizing top-notch events, is organizing the pioneering KIB | The Stadium Horse Show Jumping Event. Sponsored by Kuwait International Bank and appreciated sponsors and partners, this event reflects our commitment to excellence.”

The huge arena at Marina Crescent will host three weeks of local and international competitions, offering our Kuwaiti riders a global platform. Since 2008, we haven’t had any international competition in Kuwait, and Suffix Events has been elevating the sports event division. KIB | The Stadium represents our solid dedication to pushing limits.”

From her side, Marafie said: “We view this significant event as an exceptional and forward-thinking initiative, be it in terms of event preparation and activities, the participation of local and international teams, all the way to the dedicated location and space on Marina Beach, in addition to the emphasis on show jumping this season.” Marafie also reaffirmed KIB’s commitment to providing a unique experience for enthusiasts of this sport and the general audience, including families and youth, adding that “this will undoubtedly be a source of pride for the Bank at the national level.”
Moreover, Marafie highlighted that sports are considered a fundamental pillar in KIB’s comprehensive social responsibility program, pointing out that the Bank organizes and sponsors various sports activities and events in Kuwait, continuously striving to support and promote the sports culture among members of the community. In addition, KIB remains committed to supporting young athletes who have achieved many accomplishments and contributed to raising Kuwait’s name and flag at various international arenas.

Over the past few months, KIB has been diligently working on the planning and organization of the equestrian championship to be held along the Marina Beach front, marking a first for Kuwait. This effort has been undertaken in collaboration with top experts and specialists in the field of sports event management to ensure compliance with the highest international standards and to achieve excellence in these competitions. 
For this purpose, KIB has constructed an equestrian track across Marina Beach with international standards, offering a completely unique and different experience to the Kuwaiti community and international teams participating in this competition. The area has been divided into six different zones, including a VIP lounge dedicated to sponsors of this grand event and prominent figures, the village and main entrance, horse care stalls, the main stadium, stables, and a ticket sales office. This distinguished championship offers various financial rewards to the winners of its events and challenges, based on the rankings of both men and women in local and international competitions.
