Promoting self-care practices among the 50+ age group through social, recreational and practical engagements

Kuwait City, Kuwait – 12 February, 2020:  Dedicated to empowering the senior women of the Kuwaiti community, Sheikh Abdullah Al Salem Cultural Centre is delighted to commence the fourth season of ‘Sanad’. As an inclusive and community-driven cultural institution, the Centre provides a positive environment for the senior women to cultivate healthier habits through social and cultural activities.

‘Sanad’ meaning ‘to be a support system’ falls under Sheikh Abdullah Al Salem Cultural Centre’s educational initiative umbrella that presents transformational learning experiences for different audiences and age groups in Kuwait. As the only senior citizens program of its kind in Kuwait, the program is driven to enrich their quality of life by enabling meaningful social bonds and negate the feeling of isolation through a combination of engaging health-related and recreational workshops.

The Centre has collaborated once again with with Daratma and Yadawi for the yoga and art sessions, respectively, as well as a new partner, Fawzia Al Sultan Healthcare Network, for drama therapy. The chosen activities are beneficial as they boost vitality through enjoyable interactions, stimulate creativity and enhance physical and mental well-being.

The program that will continue until 15 April 2020, invites the 50+ aged women participants to sign up for their preferred sessions on the Sheikh Abdullah Al Salem Culture Centre website.

Sheikh Abdullah Al Salem Cultural Centre is one the many projects developed by the Amiri Diwan to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and promote critical, creative, and interpretive thinking within Kuwaiti society through world-class exhibitions and educational public programmes.
