
Saudi Health Honors Patient Service Heroes
Award aims to spread empathy culture and Human-centric healthcare
Riyadh: Saudi Minister of Health, Eng. Fahd Al-Jalajel, honored on Sunday, March 27th, the recipients of the Patient Experience Excellence Awards, in its third session. The award aims to spread the concept of human-centric healthcare and motivate health care providers and their leaders to build a culture of partnership and empathy with patients.
The General Director of Health Affairs in Najran, the Executive Director of Al Mousa Specialist Hospital in the Eastern Province, and the Director of King Faisal Medical Complex in Taif, were awarded the Excellence Award in the Effective Leader Track.
While the Excellence Award for the most Inspirational Story track was won by Badr General Hospital, King Khalid Hospital in Najran, and King Abdulaziz Specialist Hospital in Taif.
In the Health Heroes track, the Excellence Award was won by King Khalid Hospital, Prince Sultan Health Services Centre in Al-Kharj, Taif Obstetrics Hospital, and Sarat Ubaidah Hospital from the Asir region.
Al-Jalajel also honored the Hail Health Assembly and the Directorate of Health Affairs in the Northern border region for their success in deploying the beneficiary's feedback data to develop the patient's experience.
His Excellency also honored King Khalid Hospital in the Hail region, the General Directorate of Health Affairs in the Asir region, and Riyadh's first Health Cluster, for winning, respectively, the Excellence Award in the track of Effective Advisory Councils.
Dr. Turki Al-Hamaidani Director General of the Patient Experience Centre said in a speech during the ceremony: 'We gather today to appreciate improvements in patient's experiences both in public and private health facilities. Our focus is to highlight paths that contribute to strengthening this principle and make improving the patient's experience a top priority.'
For her part, Ayat Al-Ghamdi, Director of the Award Project, said that presenting the award comes in line with the Kingdom’s vision 2030, which seeks to raise the level of health services. She added that the award sought to promote a culture of empathy and improve communication between service providers and beneficiaries, which positively affects their satisfaction. She pointed out that a new track has been introduced this year to honor Health Heroes who bravely fought the Corona pandemic.
