Students can receive an enlighting experience through guided tours across many wonders

 

Kuwait City, Kuwait – 6 November 2019:  The Sheikh Abdullah Al Salem Cultural Centre is pleased to announce the launch of its ‘School Programme” , will run from November 2019 until the end of the school year in 2020. Delivered by the Centre’s Academy, the educational initiative facilitates informative learnings for all age groups, wherein the programmes are designed to ensure each student from Kindergarten to Grade 12 receives tailored educational experiences, through engaging learning opportunities,  custom-made museum tours and workshops. They will discover history, the latest innovations that are shaping the nature of the world today and future explorations. 


The ‘School Programme’ participants from KG01-G02 will learn about ‘Wonders under the Sea’ with direct interactions at the Touch Pool. The Centre also offers a fun tour of the ‘Healthy Living Gallery’, where students of this age group will explore the world of exercise through interactive exhibits and healthy meals. 
Grade 03-G05 students will learn about the diverse ecosystems in Southeast Asia, beginning with the heights of the Rainforest canopies and end in the depths of the coral reefs. Throughout the tour, visitors will enjoy life-size replicas and engaging exhibits to give each little adventurer the chance to view amazing landscapes.  Students can also visit the ‘Prehistoric Life gallery’ and enjoy a guided tour of the ‘Age of Reptiles’ taking the students through the Prehistoric Life to learn about ancient reptiles that lived 65 million years ago, including dinosaurs.


Apart from delving into the science fiction and pop culture, students from Grade 06-08 will have the opportunity to tour into the world of Robotics, pick up on the technological history of how simple automated mechanical machines evolved into human-like robots with the ability to think on their own. Another option for this age group, the ‘Brain & Senses’ tour, which will focus on the most important organ in the human body: the brain. Students will learn about how our brains devote a sizeable amount of energy and physical space to our five senses and the value of sleep in brain development, learning, and physical performance.

 

Grade 09-G12 students will gather knowledge through the interactive ‘We are Made of Star Stuff’ tour, about how the universe was formed, along with the latest discoveries in particle physics through the ‘Planetary Science gallery’ gallery.


A tour serving as an introduction and celebration of the history of Arabic-Islamic Science will emphasize the different ethnic, gender and religious backgrounds of the scholars of the ‘Golden Age’, highlighting some of the main scientists and their works. The tour will also shed light on the  role that Islam played in the era. 
The ‘School Programme’ are open to teachers and students, who also receive exlcusive giveaways from the Centre to take back home. They run from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM on Modays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Teachers and supervisors of respective insitituions are encouraged to book their visit on the ASCC school portal https://schools.ascckw.com/

 

The Sheikh Abdullah Al Salem Cultural Centre was developed by the Office of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait with the vision of delivering world-class exhibitions and public educational programmes to the people of Kuwait. It is working on facilitating the exchange of knowledge and the development of critical, creative, and interpretive thinking skills.
