Offering free Bio-medical assessment of foot and Consultation with Podiatrist

People suffering with Diabetic Foot, Foot Infections or Flat Feet can get expert advice.

30th March, 2017; Dubai, UAE: To help people suffering with back pain, knee injury or any lower limb problems, RAK Diabetes Center in Jumeirah, Dubai is conducting a free one day clinic on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at their facility from 10 am to 4 pm. At the clinic, a free bio medical assessment of the feet and a complimentary consultation with the Podiatrist will help people understand why they are getting the pain and provide them with solutions. Complimentary assessment also includes BMI, Blood Pressure, RBS and HBA1C test wherever needed.

A Podiatrist is a medical professional whose training focuses on the foot and ankle, and the interaction between foot and the full body.  No matter what causes your feet to ache, Podiatrists can help. In fact a problem in your feet could generate symptoms not only in your feet itself but also in your lower limb, knee, hip, spine, even in your neck and alignments of your body.

“If you are suffering from back pain or have suffered from knee injury, the cause could be in your feet and there could be an easy solution. A bio mechanical assessment would, in many cases, give you all the information and the answers to why are you getting that pain or injury that you cannot get rid of. Also, parents who may think their child could be having a flat feet, if he/she is walking inwards / outwards or toe-walking, can bring their child for a bio mechanical assessment. Children under the age of 10 are best suited for the treatment and the disorder can be fully corrected”, said Ms. Cristina Fiol, Podiatrist at RAK Diabetes Center Jumeirah.

“Foot assessment is all the more necessary if you are diabetic as only 15-20% of diabetic patients present neuropathy symptoms. However, when they are properly screened, up to 70% of them are having some kind of neuropathy. Vascular and Neurological disorders are common in Diabetics, increasing the risk of ulcers and amputations in these patients. A proper full diabetic assessment must be taken at least once per year, for all diabetics”, added Ms. Fiol.
