Kuwait, 12 April 2023: Founded by Sheikha Abrar Khaled Jaber Al Ali Al Sabah, Abbey’s Productions, a Kuwait-based production house that focuses on developing the caliber and enhancing the quality of Arab films and television content, brought this Ramadan on Arab screens a light series called Saqata Sahwan (fell in an oversight), which merges Kuwaiti and Egyptian comedy culture in a story that highlights a strong friendship between an Egyptian doctor and a Kuwaiti patient.

“Television content can bring people together and strengthen long-lasting ties between cultures and countries such as Kuwait and Egypt. We are proud to have the renowned Egyptian actor, Hamdy Almarghany, in this series and have him experience a unique form of Kuwaiti television productions,” stated Sheikha Abrar Al Sabah.

“At Abbey’s we do believe that it is vital to bring a diverse pool of talents, cultures, and backgrounds into our productions to elevate the Arab TV and drama industry. Kuwait and Gulf countries welcome many nationalities and people from the Arab world and other parts of the globe. Therefore, we need stories and content that reflect this diversity and our current reality such as Saqata Sahwan,” she added.

 

Written by Abdulaziz Al Suffar and Khaled Al Muthafar, the series was directed by Ali Badr Reda and it brought together a cast of renowned Kuwaiti comedians including Khaled AlMuthafar, Ghada AlZadjali, Abdelaziz AlKhudr, Ahmed AlMuthafar, and Ahmad AlOnan. In addition to the renowned Egyptian comedian and theater actor, Hamdy Almarghany, and a guest of an honour in every episode such as prominent actors Mohammed Al Dosari, Zainab Ahmad, Osama Al Muzail, Abdulrahman Al Fahad, Yassa, Abdelaziz Safar, and many others.

 

The story showcasts the strong friendship between an Egyptian doctor and a Kuwaiti patient who lost his memory in a car accident. While being treated at the hospital, his Egyptian friend turned to be the doctor handling the case and had to go through so many adventures to revive his memory. 

Saqata Sahwan, is being broadcasted daily on Kuwait Television and Al Adala TV.
