In recognition of its committed efforts in enabling and developing national candidates 

Kuwait, 11 October 2023:  In a new testament to its excellence in human development and enablement of national talents, Burgan Bank announced receiving the GCC Excellence Award in the Recruitment and Development of Nationals from the Council of Ministers of Labor and Council of Ministers of Social Affairs in the GCC States Executive Bureau. The coveted award, which recognizes private institutions’ outstanding efforts in employment and localization across the GCC, underscores Burgan’s unwavering commitment to the localization of its workforce, in adherence to the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices.

In light of this achievement, Mr. Fadel Abdullah, Acting Chief Executive Officer - Kuwait at Burgan Bank, said: “It is a great honor for Burgan Bank to be receiving this esteemed award once more, as it marks a notable addition to the Bank’s list of achievements and constant endeavors in the field of Kuwaitization. Burgan Bank received the award in recognition of its outstanding performance across multiple fronts, including the staffing ratio of national talents across the different job levels, the involvement of women in the workplace, especially in leading roles, as well as the Bank’s efforts in supporting and hiring differently-abled talents. Other areas of excellence that earned Burgan the award were the benefits offered to the staff, the workplace culture, health and safety measures, the training and development efforts that support all staff in their career progression, and lastly, their low turnover rates. 

It serves to note that Burgan Bank received the same award in 2019, further testifying to the Bank’s relentless efforts to contribute effectively to the nationwide localization goals, with the number of Kuwaiti talents continuing to grow across its local network. Thanks to its expanding national workforce, the Bank has set an example for organizations in the private sector by attracting the most aspiring youth and committing to the holistic growth of its staff through various learning and development schemes, which enable them to prepare for future leadership roles.
