Kuwait, 20 August 2023:  In continued efforts to support Kuwait’s top athletic talents and as part of its strategic partnership with the Kuwait Olympic Committee and its Olympic Athlete Preparation Program, Burgan Bank is sponsoring the three Kuwaiti Olympians competing at the 2023 World Athletics Championship. This includes Yaqoub Al-Youha, Mudhawi Al-Shammari, and Ebrahim Al-Dhafeeri who are all now vying for gold at the tournament currently taking place in Budapest, Hungary.

The three Olympians, Al-Youha, Al-Shammari, and Al-Dhafeeri, have all competed in numerous worldwide championships, bringing home numerous medals. With such a notable track record of triumphs, the Olympians’ participation in the 2023 World Athletics Championship marks a new opportunity to raise the Kuwaiti flag high in front of the entire world, filling the entire nation with pride and inspiring the youth to stretch their dreams toward farther horizons.

Commenting on Burgan’s sponsorship of the Olympians, Mrs. Kholoud Redha Al-Feeli, Deputy General Manager of Marketing and Communication at the Bank, said: “We are incredibly proud of our national athletic talents and the successes they continue to achieve. Competing in a worldwide competition, let alone winning, is no easy feat; and that’s why we are committed to patronizing our home-grown champions on their journeys to athletic victory.”
“On our mission to inspire positive change across the various circles of society, it is crucial to walk side-by-side along the national changemakers and trailblazers who represent the future we aspire for as a nation,” added Al-Feeli.

To ensure that its top talents reach their full potential and grow toward new victories, Burgan Bank’s sponsorship of the five Olympians in the Olympic Athlete Preparation Program - Amal Al Roumi, Yaqoub Al-Youha, Mudhawi Al-Shammari, Ebrahim Al-Dhafeeri, and Joud Tawfiq - extends to cover their needs all year long. This includes everything from enrolling them in the best training camps to providing them with expert coaching and ensuring that they have the needed resources to deliver their best performance.

Stemming from its belief in the value of sports and its far-reaching impact on the development of healthy youth, Burgan Bank continues to dedicate generous resources to the flourishing of the sports sector in Kuwait. These efforts include sponsoring Kuwait’s most promising athletic talents across a number of sports, as well as establishing a series of successful strategic partnerships with numerous Kuwaiti sporting institutions, such as the Kuwait Olympic Committee, the Kuwait Equestrian Federation, and the Kuwait Padel Club.
