In support of children’s theater and developing youth capabilities

Kuwait, 8 May 2023 :  Burgan Bank is celebrating the success of its sponsorship of the play, “Abracadabra”, which kicked off on the first day of Eid Al-Fitr on the stage of the Handball Hall in Daiya. As one of the most prominent theatrical productions for children in 2023, the play featured educational messages for children, in addition to singing and big performances. 
The “Abracadabra” play was produced by Trend Production, in cooperation with playwright Mariam Naseer, and was directed by artist Bader Al Shuaibi. It starred Yaqoub Abdullah, Bader Al Shuaibi, Nasser Abbas, Farah Al-Sarraf, Fahad Al-Saleh, and Nasser Al Dossary. The music was composed and arranged by Rabie Al Saydawi and harmonized by Bader Al Shuaibi and Hadi Khamis, while the lyrics were written by Mohammad Al Sheridah. Abdul Rahman Al-Yahyouh, meanwhile, acted as the general supervisor of the play.

The play featured singing and theatrical performances with distinctive, engaging educational messages targeting both children and youth. By supporting this theatrical work, we continue our mission to encourage and develop the capabilities of the Kuwaiti youth, and highlight their talents..” 

Ms. Al-Najadah added: “As a continuation of the success of our Ramadan riddle-themed advertising campaign, which achieved 14 million engagements and views on TV and the Bank’s various social media platforms, we resumed our series of entertaining videos that required solving mysteries about the ‘Abracadabra’ play. The videos generated high interaction among our customers and the fans of the theatrical performers, as we held special prize draws that enabled each winner to receive four VIP tickets to attend the play and enjoy a unique, exceptional experience both during the show and behind the scenes with their favorite stars.”  
On his part, Bader Al Shuaibi, the director and protagonist of the play, said: “On behalf of the ‘Abracadabra’ family, I would like to thank Burgan Bank for their generous sponsorship and trust in our talent. Our partnership with the Bank allowed us to witness their great support for young talent and readiness to invest in theater for children, which has long been spearheaded by Kuwait. Through the play, we sought to simplify the dialogue with an easy and familiar approach that resonated with both children and their parents. We also applied great efforts to attract children’s attention through the decorations, the distinctive shape of the theater, the change in lighting, and the various performances that reflected the events and sequence of the play in a simplified manner. Due to the unprecedented public turnout since the inauguration of the play, the show was extended to reach three showings per day during the Eid Al-Fitr period and beyond. We hope to continue this partnership and cooperation with Burgan Bank in the future with more successful works of art.”
