In a continued effort to advance its staff and outstanding Kuwaiti talents

Kuwait, 5 April 2023:  Burgan Bank announced that five of its talented employees, who were selected from the Bank’s Ro2ya program, have successfully completed the 2022 Innovation Challenge Program. The program was organized by the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) and designed in partnership with London Business School (LBS). Burgan’s participation in the Innovation Challenge Program underscores its unwavering commitment to developing its staff’s personal and professional capabilities. It also highlights the Bank’s earnest contribution to advancing the level of skill and talent across Kuwait’s Baking sector to meet the modern-day needs of the market and customers.

The five participating staff members – Abdulwahab Abdulraheem, Reham Al Mejalhem, Farah Quitbaldeen, Fawaz Maghrabi, and Hamad Al Bader – were all selected from the Bank’s pool of outstanding talents as part of its second edition of the Ro2ya talent development program. On an institutional level, Burgan’s participation in the Innovation Challenge Program aims - first and foremost- at preparing Innovation Mentors who are capable of leading the Bank’s innovative and forward-looking efforts, initiatives, and solutions. Meanwhile, on a national level, Burgan Bank’s adoption of innovation aims at raising the benchmark for local talents and professional caliber in support of Kuwait’s 2023 strategic ambition of economic growth.

Commenting on Burgan’s staff participation in, and successful completion of, the program, Reham Al Mejalhem, one of the program participants and Manager - Process Optimization at the Bank, commented on the learning experience, saying: “It is not every day that one gets such an invaluable learning opportunity such as the one we were given by attending the KFAS Innovation Challenge Program in partnership with LBS. I am very grateful to Burgan Bank for allowing us the opportunity to learn and develop, and for granting us the space to utilize our knowledge in the development of the institution we proudly belong to.”

On the other hand, Farah Quitbaldeen, another participant and Acting Unit Head – Trading & Auto at Burgan Bank said: “I would like to express my gratitude for the opportunity to attend the KFAS Innovation Challenge Program in partnership with London Business School. It was an incredible experience to be a part of such an inspiring and innovative community. The program has provided us with invaluable knowledge and insights, including best practices for identifying challenges, opportunities and potential risks, as well as the chance to connect with like-minded individuals and industry experts. As a team we were impressed by the quality of the program content, professionalism of the coordinators and mentors, and the level of engagement from all participants.”

She further added: “We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Burgan Bank for their continuous support throughout the program, we are looking forward to applying the knowledge we gained back to our organization. Thank you also to KFAS for organizing this unique experience in partnership with LBS. Our participation helped us gain valuable insights and further our goals, achieving greater outcomes.”

Upon completing the program’s three modules: Innovation Readiness, Leading Innovation, and Commercial Viability, the Burgan talents rounded up their participation by successfully presenting their final project. The presentation, which was endorsed and attended by the Bank’s management and leaders, included innovative solutions to the sector’s most pressing challenges, as well as novel ways for elevating the Burgan banking experience for all stakeholders.
Burgan Bank continues to generously dedicate its resources to the development of its human capital and the utilization of national talents, with the aim of propelling the wheel of national economy forward.
