As part of its ongoing efforts in bolstering the sports culture in Kuwait

Kuwait, 2 April 2023:  Burgan Bank recently announced its sponsorship of the Kuwaiti national padel team in the NAS Padel Tournament 2023. The tournament’s tenth edition, hosted by the United Arab Emirates (UAE), is set to take place at the Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex on April 4, 2023, with the participation of eight national teams from across the Arab region. The sponsorship comes as part of Burgan’s Ramadan campaign, “Driven by Giving”, as well as its overarching social responsibility program and ongoing commitment to nurturing the sports culture in Kuwait.

Despite the sport’s recency in Kuwait, it has become widely popular, garnering a diverse fan base that turns to the sport all year long, and especially in Ramadan, both for its health benefits and entertainment quality. In response to the sport’s growing popularity, Kuwait’s national padel team was assembled last year, comprising some of the country’s brightest talents, including Abdelaziz Al-Maayouf, Abdulrahman Al-Awadhi, Mohammed Abdal, Ahmed Rabea, Hassan Al-Moussa, and team captain Ali Hayat. 

Thanks to the joint efforts of the national team’s management and the private sector institutions, Kuwait’s national padel team has secured numerous victories that brought pride to the entire nation. As interest in padel tennis continues to grow in Kuwait, more investments are poured into the construction of better facilities, which, in turn, attract a bigger number of athletes to the sport.

In light of the recent sponsorship, Mrs. Kholoud Abdulredha Al-Feeli, Head of Corporate Communications at Burgan Bank, commented: “We are fully committed to our responsibility towards Kuwait’s established and aspiring athletes, which entails offering them all needed means of support. On his part, Mr. Omar Al-Zanki, President of Kuwait Padel Club, expressed his appreciation for Burgan’s continuous support of the Kuwaiti national padel team during their participation in NAS Padel Tournament in UAE, a sporting spectacle that annually attracts the world’s top padel players. Al-Zanki commented: “Burgan Bank’s support of our national padel team, and its determination to facilitate their participation in the leading regional and international tournaments, is a huge motive for the team members to exert their utmost effort on the court in hopes of victoriously raising the Kuwaiti flag up high.”
