Sheikh Abdullah Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Chairman of Burgan Bank

Kuwait, 7th July 2022:  Burgan Bank announced the election of Sheikh Abdullah Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah to the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors for the new term that extends from 2022 to 2024, succeeding Mr. Majed Essa Al-Ajeel. Sheikh Abdullah Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah was elected Chairman during the Bank’s 57th Annual General Assembly Meeting in the presence of a quorum of 85.138%, and upon the approval of the Central Bank of Kuwait.

On this occasion, Sheikh Abdullah Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah declared “We are confident that with the competencies and capabilities of the new board members and the trust of our esteemed shareholders, we will continue to advance Burgan Bank towards further sustainable growth, development and excellence. On this occasion, I would like to express my sincere appreciation to Burgan’s executive management and employees for their dedication and efforts that have consolidated the Bank’s leading position among the financial institutions in Kuwait.”

Mr. Masoud J. Hayat, Burgan Bank’s Vice Chairman and Group Chief Executive Officer, said 'We are glad to have Sheikh Abdullah Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah join the Bank’s leadership as Chairman of the Board of Directors for its new term. Sheikh Abdullah Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah also holds the position of Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of KAMCO Investment Company, and is a member of the Board of Directors of KIPCO and the United Gulf Bank - Bahrain. He also chairs Burgan Bank’s Board Committee on Corporate Governance. Sheikh Abdullah Nasser Al-Sabah holds a Bachelor's degree from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, UK, and a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from New York Institute of Technology - USA.
