Kuwait City, Kuwait – 18 February 2019: Sheikh Abdullah Al Salem Cultural Centre recently concluded its 10-day horticultural exhibition, featuring floral arrangements and interactive outdoors activities for both adults and children. The festival aimed to raise awareness on the importance of preserving Kuwait’s ecosystem and enable a culture that treasures its floral beauty.

Highlighting the benefits of protecting Kuwait’s environment and its national heritage, the event coincided with the theme of the Centre’s Natural History Museum. During the workshops, visitors were greeted with native plants and international flower species that grow both indoors and outdoors. They could also visit a special booth with flower décor and special giveaways, sponsored by ‘Only Roses’.

Aimed at increasing botanical interest among all members of the community, the program combined popular flowers such as the Clove flower, Kalanchoe blossfeldiana, Rhododendron, Geraniums, Hydrangea, Petunia Roses, Gardenia Flower and many more exotic collections, coming from countries around the world such as Brazil, The Netherlands, China, Japan, Argentina, Syria, Indonesia, Turkey, South Africa and India to name a few.

As one of the largest museum complexes of its kind in the world, the award-winning Centre prides itself for promoting the conservation of Kuwait’s natural identity, inspiring future generations to value and respect their unique landscapes.

Sheikh Abdullah Al Salem Cultural Centre is one the many projects developed by the Amiri Diwan to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and promote critical, creative, and interpretive thinking within Kuwaiti society through world-class exhibitions and educational public programmes.
